Jednota tlumo\u010dn\u00edk\u016f a p\u0159ekladatel\u016f<\/a> je sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed Mezin\u00e1rodn\u00ed asociace p\u0159ekladatel\u016f FIT – International Federation of Translators<\/a>, kter\u00e1 vydala prohl\u00e1\u0161en\u00ed, v n\u011bm\u017e konstatuje, \u017ee mnoha na\u0161ich koleg\u016f na Ukrajin\u011b a v Rusku se siln\u011b dot\u00fdk\u00e1 sou\u010dasn\u00e1 velmi obt\u00ed\u017en\u00e1 doba. P\u0159ekladatel\u00e9 a tlumo\u010dn\u00edci v\u017edy hr\u00e1li kl\u00ed\u010dovou roli ve spojov\u00e1n\u00ed n\u00e1rod\u016f a v podpo\u0159e m\u00edru, porozum\u011bn\u00ed a rozvoje (co\u017e stvrdilo Valn\u00e9 shrom\u00e1\u017ed\u011bn\u00ed OSN 24. kv\u011btna 2017 v rezoluci OSN A\/RES\/71\/288).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the situation in Ukraine worsens and the atrocities increase in intensity, the International Federation of Translators (FIT) reaffirms its solidarity, support and deep concern for translators, terminologists and interpreters in Ukraine who are under attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FIT urges its member associations to work to provide language help where needed. If any FIT organisation or their members are in a position to help displaced persons with translation or interpreting services, or are even able to offer to house refugees leaving Ukraine, please contact me directly at president@fit-ift.org<\/a> and I will pass on this information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FIT Council would also ask that translators and interpreters involved in the conflict have their rights respected and that it be acknowledged that in warfare, translators and interpreters often come under direct threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Translators and interpreters deal in words not aggressive actions, and they have always played a key role in connecting nations and in fostering peace, understanding and development (as recognised by the UN General Assembly on 24 May 2017 in UN Resolution A\/RES\/71\/288). We sincerely hope that words and dialogue will swiftly replace guns and missiles and that translators and interpreters may soon be able to resume the important work they do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
